World Academy of Cosmetic Surgery

The World Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is a professional medical society whose members are dedicated to patient safety and physician education in cosmetic surgery.

The philosophy of the academy is strongly influenced by the founder of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Dr. Richard C. Webster. Dr. Webster's primary goal was learning and teaching. As an international society their members come from countries with varying legal situations concerning medical practice. Their primary objective is doctors education and training in cosmetic surgery. The resulting improvement of patients safety is the ultimate goal. This appears more necessary than ever in present times as there is otherwise no formal training programmes for cosmetic or aesthetic surgery.
